Just so you know, I don’t approve of your actions…
Laura Cabanilla
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to have a state run by Democrats!
LuDene Dallimore
I have voted Republican for over 50 years I as well as others are looking in other directions The leadership oft he party is not in touch with the membership
Carol Butte
I am extremely disappointed with the recent bylaw change and would encourage all active Republicans to repeal this change and submit to the current rule of law. I am also embarrassed that representatives from Davis County appear to have instigated this change.
The Republican Party left me 10 years ago and I left the republican party to join the United Utah party a year ago. Come and join us.Thanks,
I totally agree with you. I am tired of the far right tea party people controlling our caucuses and voting in Utah. We must put a stop to this. I love the “Count My Vote” option.
Sandra Rickett, age 75.
The Utah Republican Party is becoming an embarrassment to the state and I’m quickly becoming disillusioned! I’ve been a lifelong Republican but am beginning to question my allegiance, especially to the Utah party. I feel that this is simply an effort to control the candidates, regardless of what the people desire. Please quit being part of the “swamp.”
Reginald Olsen
Members of the SSC,
Fellow Republicans:
You put our 2018 candidates representation on the ballot at risk, broke the law, and did the whole thing deceitfully. You should be relieved of your offices in the party immediately.
Colleen Tidwell
Provo
I am a long time Republican in Utah and I resent your efforts to hijack the party and grab power for your small group of individuals. Your tactics are despicable. You are an embarrassment to the party. I will do everything in my power to defeat you. The party needs to move on, accept SB54, the use of petitions in nominating candidates for office, and drop the stupid expensive law suits defending past actions. We should be the party of more participation, not one of control by a few people with backroom manipulations by people like you.
Spare me –
2) Openly support HB485.
3) Reverse the Bylaw by whatever means necessary.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to have a state run by Democrats!
You seem to be a very underhanded group
Stan Burrows
Daryl,
Thank you for your efforts and your words. I am tired of seeing the Republican party here straining at legal battles when we could be focused on quality candidates and winning races.
I am working as the campaign finance manager for Justin Hoyal for Salt Lake County Sheriff.
Justin wants to be the Republican candidate, but with all of the turmoil that a vocal minority is creating, it could remove the energy and resources Republican’s could be putting into a competitive race.
I appreciate your efforts and respect the opinions of all involved, but there is a much better way for the minority to handle this than all out war.
Thanks,

The caucus system should have no business in the voting of the state of Utah. I’ve been to caucuses in Utah and there are several problems with the system.
The voter turnout is very low at a caucus. You are not seeing the “majority” of the voters but a small group.
The groups tend to me “fringe” groups. That is because these people who are very passionate about politics usually have views that are much different than the general public. In our last election, Gov. Herbert lost the caucus but got on the ballot and tromped his opponent.
This puts the winner of the caucus beholding to the small group of people who elected him.
Another case in point was Sen. Bob Bennett who would have won in the primary hands down but the minority of voters who wanted him out took over the election process and got rid of him, despite the consensus that he would have won the primary.
Those are 2 examples just recently that prove that the caucus does not work, will not work and should be abandoned at this point in time.
Judy Mills
I am a long standing member of the Utah Republican Party. I categorically condemn action to try to remove the petition option form the election rules. I am disgusted by some members of the party who think the caucus system is so important and yet so vulnerable that it needs to be protected from democracy.
Knock it off you power hungry narcissists. If I want an alternate candidate who gathers signatures instead of the dead weight the incompetent and uneducated delegates votes for, it only STRENGTHENS the legitimacy of our party-which quite frankly-I don’t even recognize anymore. This action shows more about who you are, then what our party stands for.
Sincerely, previous delegate, disgusted registered Republican voter,
Pam McKinnon, Plain City
Thanks for this information. I was very unhappy with the Republican State Central Committee for passing this new rule in a rush meeting. I don’t see anything wrong with getting in the race by getting signatures of lots of people
Marilytn Leifson
Mr. Acumen,
In regards to your communication I am responding as a Precinct Chairman, Draper 19th Precinct, District 32.
I fully support the caucus system, but also believe in upholding the law. I do not support the recent actions of the extreme right members who feel they can manipulate, change, and coerce the GOP of Utah.
The Utah GOP party needs to come together and unite itself against any further actions of this small group within the central committee.
Thank you,
Jon Sargent
Draper. Precinct Chairman 19
District 32.
I feel that it is the Gang of 51, including all those who organized and participated in the meeting, are those who should be removed from the Republican Party and banned from rejoining or participating in any of its party affiliated functions indefinably. Reinstatement to the party could be sought by each individual at the State Republican Party Convention, by a 60% positive vote of all delegates in attendance. This would not be a voice vote.
Carmen Dickson
Thank you for your work. I fully support you and also feel these people who have acted in their own interests and the interest of a radical minority should be punished accordingly.
It’s fine, the way ya’ll play at being responsible, like as if you were teenagers!!
“What a fine mess we have here, Stanley!”
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We need to broaden the base of the Republican party not just limit to a few chosen few. There will be a future price to be paid if you continue to abuse your power over the will of the general republican party base
Sincerely
Gary Fullmer

It strikes me as arrogant that a group of 51 party members have chosen to decide the fate of the Republican Party. Your ideas do not represent those of the Utah GOP, so if they do not, who are you representing? Yourselves. You were put in that position to represent those of the Republican Party. If you can’t do that responsibly then I would suggest you resign your position.
I have attended the caucus meetings for as long as I can remember. My wife has been a delegate. But both of us understand the count my vote initiative. It is because the minority in the party want to hold onto power and use underhanded means like the gang of 51 did to keep that power. The Utah GOP is not your private club. It should represent all republicans.
I have lost faith in the Utah GOP.
Steven Hancock
As a 40 year Republican, former precinct chair and vice chair, delegate for both county and state conventions – I am embarrassed by your actions! You do not represent me or my views. I only hope you have not done irreparable harm to the upcoming elections.
Carrie Norr

At this point I don’t care. If enough of the the Utah GOP can’t/won’t understand that no-one _wants_ their autocracy let them take themselves out of the running.

I along with many Utah residents am not a fan of the caucus system and therefore am very disappointed in the actions of the Utah Republican Party for continuing to push such an archaic way of electing primary candidates. When I heard what the State Central Committee had done with the by-law, it felt like I had been punched in the face. I could see the end of our conservative standing in Utah. I fervently hope there is some way to backtrack on this issue and get the Republican leadership on board with the wishes of the populace of our wonderful State.
Bert Dennis
If this is true, and honestly it seems impossible to believe that we have people in Utah this corrupt and power hungry, but if it is true then they need to be removed from their position. How can we as citizen make that happen?
Marvin John

As a former caucus chair and discouraged republican, I am very concerned about the bullies of the republican party. I voted and support “Count my vote” SB54 and am a strong supporter of Romney and anyone who will speak out against this non-democratic madness. In my opinion, the extreme right and the party of Trump is destroying the republican party and, no kidding, the principles of democracy. It’s frightening!
John Morrey
I agree with you! Thank you for letting us know!
Joni Williams
I am very concerned about the emergency meeting that was held by the SCC and action was taken that highly impacts the Republican Party. I have watched the video. Committee members actions were completely out of control and down right rude to the chair. I do not support these actions and am ashamed of the conduct of my elected delegate, Layne Beck.
I do not support the law suits nor the initiative “Keep My Voice.” Along with that, I would like to express concern over the “Certifiation for Candidates” which requires them to sign or their membership will be revoked. Who is the judge of a candidate’s support of the Republician Party Platform? All voters make that decision.
Let’s take back the Republican Party!
Thank you for giving us a voice!
Susan Redd
Dear Central State Committee Members:
I’m a lifelong Republican. I’ve attended multiple state committees. I’m so sad at the actions you took by calling a special meeting and flouting the law and will of many of the Republican party. Your actions do not reflect my views. They endanger us as a party. Please reconvene and rescind the unnecessary and divisive party bylaws that you passed.
Tracy M Frandsen
What are you trying to do?
Watching the video reminds me of pictures I have seen of Hitler removing opposition legislators from meetings because of their opposition to what Hitler thought was best for his party/country. I am ashamed at the blatant disregard for the rule of law. At this point, your are not condemning the opposition leaders to their deaths. Again, fix the bylaw change you rammed through.
Daryl
Dear Republican Party State Central Committee Members,
When I read about the meeting on Feb 24, 2018 in the paper, I was speechless. Regardless of whether or not you approve of SB54, the move on the 24th to kick out any Republican candidate who becomes a candidate using the signature path was a classic case of “throwing the baby out with the bath water.” The consequences of this bylaw are incredibly damaging! From what I have read in a couple of different newspapers, there is a great chance that the Republican Party will no longer be considered a qualified political party. It sounds like in voting for this bylaw, you just ensured that candidates will have to run as independents instead of Republicans. Yes, candidates who gained their candidacy through signatures, won’t run as Republicans, but neither will anyone else! Unfortunately, many Republican voters do not take time to study the candidates and vote for candidates solely based on their party. Although I personally and firmly believe in taking time to study the candidates and issues, realistically, many voters do not. Your rash action to vote for this bylaw has weakened our party like no outside force could. As a loyal and active Republican, I urge you to repair this reckless action immediately.
Sincerely,
Alecia Gardenhire
Why is this happening I believe that anyone that wants to run for office for the GOP should be allowed as long as they follow the signature procedures This sounds like back room politics If I find out who is responsible for this in Just the first and second districts I will personally petition for their conviction.
John Sansom
I am s registered Republican and have voted Republican all my life, and have been a delegate to the state convention. I strongly ask that you please do not change the rules for the 2018 election. You need to stop fighting a signature path to the primary election and allow a dual path to get on the state ballot, not just the caucus convention path. Your job in the central committee is to expand the number of Republican candidates and Republican voters, not to shrink it in any way. Abide by the current state election laws and stop trying to challenge them in court.
Seems like you all want to run the whole party your way. Doubt that you all will be around too much longer if you keep trying to mess up the party.
Ken Caye
Teena/Gangof51,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
This is very upsetting to me. The whole purpose of our caucus system is it necessitates the candidates actually meet and interact with those whom they pledge to serve. Without this system we will simply be voting on whoever can afford to run the most commercials, print the most bumper stickers, etc. I want to engage my current representatives on all platforms so they see my face, answer my questions and respond to me feedback on a personal level. This is a direct threat to our UNIQUE and beautiful system.
How dare you take it upon yourselves to change our system during an election year, without debate and without a full quarum.
Better to have too many candidates to choose from, than one that can simply fund a bumper sticker campaign.
You should be ashamed and impeached.

I will personally begin working to remove members of the Gang Of 51 from any and all leadership positions. I feel that you blatantly violated the Republican Party Rules by (First) calling a minimal notice meeting, and (Second) creating this rule. It is not only obvious you wanted little opposition, and that you have other agendas than what the majority of the Republican voters have. I will further support any actions taken to hold your group accountable for violation of State Law. I will encourage all voters to not support any candidate that will profit from this action.
Just when the Republican Party started to emerge as the clear party of the people you do this back door action.
Donald E. Bateman
I am s registered Republican and have voted Republican all my life. I strongly ask that you please do not change the rules for the 2018 election. I cannot believe how irresponsible it was of a minority of the State Republican Central Committee to pass that stupid by law. Get your heads out of the sand and start acting legally and responsibly.
I am a registered republican and have served as a delegate to both state and county conventions. My affiliation with the republican party is on the very edge. Because of your actions, I am considering removing my self from the party.
Patti Greaves
How could the SCC act so foolishly? 8-0
I am totally disgusted with the actions of the State Central Committee. I have been a republican all my life and cannot believe you would jeopardize our party in this way. You acted irresponsibly with that bylaw. What were you thinking???
Patti Greaves
Reverse the by-law change that would violate the law which allows candidates to get on the ballot by gathering signatures. Let’s not give democrats victories at the polls because of this stupid by-law change.
Ron Eliason
A life long Republican
What you are doing is outrageous! Are you purposely giving the election to the Democrat Party?
We need to do everything we can to help keep and then expand the Republican majority in Congress.
I don’t have legal training but the current laws need to be followed. What is reported sounds shady on your part. People who were on the ballot because of signatures seemed to work out okay in the past election. Since moving to Utah a little more than 20 years ago, I have always thought the Caucus system was really strange.
I don’t know all the proper protocols, but I do know that we need fair and honest election procedures that let our votes be counted.

I object to this new bylaw. Please allow both signature and caucus nominations to be on the ballot.
Dear Mr. Acumen,
I abandoned the Utah GOP several years ago after the Ultra conservatives
gained control and ousted Bob Bennett in the primaries. Given the
direction since then the GOP has subsequently taken the probability that
I would ever return to the Utah GOP are slim to none. Please remove my
name from your contact list.
Sincerely
David Tillson
I ask that you NOT enact a bylaw that threatens to disqualify the Utah Republican party from the General Election ballot.
It violates current election laws and the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution. The bylaw would be dangerous for the future welfare of the country. Citizens did not realize what a dangerous situation the country was in until after the last presidential election. Soon after the election, the people learned, of the great deal of governmental corruption of the last administration that is still being exposed.
Please do not violate the United States Constitution and the current election laws and put the welfare of the country first.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Phyllis Kimpel
Daryl, Please pass on to the “gang” that this kind of CRAP is exactly why I question my affiliation with the Republication party and am strongly considering returning to an independent voter status. Our own people who put you in your present position did so with the understanding that you would support their needs and wishes NOT your own.
Paul Rogers
These guys are nuts and should be removed. How dare they try and circumvent proper lawful procedure.
Hi Daryl
Looks like I got the email five times. Might want to look into your email software and see if there is a bug. Or perhaps the send all button was pressed five times?
Anyways, thanks I’ll look into this.
Chris Johnson
I was given your contact information so I could express my opinion to you about your decision to kick out anyone on the ballot who got there by a signature route. I disagree with your decision. In fact, I support the elimination of the caucus system completely. I don’t think most registered Republicans even know what a caucus is, how it works, or why it matters. I also don’t feel like my delegates always represent me or my vote. I feel strongly that every registered voter has the right to cast their own vote. I also think we should spend more time encouraging people to vote and educating them about candidates and important issues, and less time drawing negative attention to our party and coming up with new ways to push candidates and voters away. I am quickly losing interest and trust in this party and its leaders.
Randee Bereece
West Point Utah Resident
I stand with the 14th ammendment: equal application of election laws.
I support the Rule of Law and seek for it to be upheld.
Please keep the Republicans ability to run gor office, to elect other Republicans, and to recruit Republicans be intact.

John A. (Jack) Johnston
Dear Gang of 51,
This is the dumbest stunt you people could do. You should be the ones thrown out of
The GOP. Me, as a republican want the Public to look at us as a forth right transparent
Group ,very honestly wanting to serve our party and all other citizens also. This alternative
way for one to get on the ballot shows we do not believe that a certain few know best for
The citizens of our County who should represent them in government, unlike our
Other major party thinks. Our Country was founded on the principles of fairness and it is
time you few in our party realizes this.
Thank You,
Conrad Miller
Candidate for Sevier County Commissioner A
Dear 51 SCC members,
As a Republican state delegate, I am very disappointed by your choice to hijack the SCC and push your own agenda in our bylaws. You 51 have chosen to make our party a laughing stock in the state and also the nation. You have embarrassed us Republicans.

https://www.ksl.com/?sid=46274096&nid=148&title=house-panel-endorses-bill-to-thwart-gop-candidate-nomination-rule
I am trying my hardest to get people to go to our local caucus meeting, and in my mind I know I am going to have to explain how 51 people made it so we might not have candidates on the November ballot. Why would people want to be a part of our process when a small number of right wing extremists have last minute secret meetings and change the bylaws to exclude candidates and processes that might not be the favorite of the minority of Utah Republicans? What motivation do people have to attend these meetings, knowing we have “leadership” like you guiding this ship?
Once I know the names of the 51, I can know to never vote for you as a member of the SCC. You have disgraced our party, and made my job, as a person who is trying invite all to become a part of the political process, a lot harder.
Undo the wrongs you have done. Change the bylaws back to what they were.
Tanya Finken
I am a Republican.
I like the Signature Gathering method.
I disapprove of the gang of 51’s action. Please change it back and resign from the Republican Party. You in no way represent me.
Dennis Murray
Daryl,
I wholeheartedly agree and am frankly disgusted with this move by this small group. It is ruining our party and will cause real mischief in the election. It seems like an arrogant move and does not take into account the remainder of the party’s efforts to deal with the alternative path to the ballot box. It’s making me ashamed of being a life-long Republican.
To the Gang of 51 (who are what numerically? .045% of the state’s GOP membership!) please cease and desist from this destructive path.
Thanks,
Tara McKee
East Millcreek
I’m ashamed of my Republican Party. Shame on you. This is what I sent to the address for gangof51. It was returned marked undeliverable. Interesting. Maybe you can send it on to them
I do not agree with the actions of the SCC and a bylaw to disallow the signature path to a party nomination. This is a vested special interest move to protect the rigged caucus system in the Republican Party which at least in my district is not representative of the our population. I am totally in favor of an alternative path around the caucus process if a candidate chooses to do so. Please reverse your narrow minded misguided actions.Cheers,Joseph Hansen
I’m ashamed of my Republican Party. Shame on you.
While I’m not well educated on these political maneuverings, it seems from my layman’s point of view that some Republicans are putting their own political agendas ahead of the welfare of the Party and the state and its citizens. My reaction: Grow UP! This is the kind of thing that Democrats are known for!
Robert Starling
Thank you for the information. Ever since the GOP has begun fighting the HB54 I have refused to give any money to the party as it is being wasted on a caucus system that I from first hand experience feel is too easily hijacked by small radical groups. Now we see from these desparate moves that this group is willing to nearly destroy the party to maintain their hold on power. Is there no one to challenge them? Thank you for your work.Sincerely,
Richard Plothow
Changing the Republican By-Laws putting the party status as a qualified political party was an asinine juvenile stunt. It makes a life-long republican question why am I a Republican if this is the leadership in the state. I can hear braying of donkeys (Democrats) right now.
The Lt. Governor should and must disqualify us as a party. I am sorry but how stupid can you be. This needs to be corrected, otherwise the Utah Republican leaders names will be mud.
Lanny Porter
To Whom It May Concern:
As a registered Republican, I do not appreciate your small minority trying to do something with which the majority of Republicans do not agree – I do not agree! Your move feels desperate and petty. Please don’t allow your zealous “rightness” guide your actions when you know your Party does not agree.
Thank you,
Mindy McNeil
Dear Gang of 15 members,
I am writing to express my concern and anxiety over the new Republican Party bylaw which would exclude Republicans who seek the party’s nomination through the signature path. This tactic of the powerful party members who use their positions to control the nominating process flies in the face that everything that our republic stands for by limiting control of the nominating process to those with great influence over the Republican Party’s nominating apparatus. It is an affront to loyal Republicans who may on occasion disagree with the party’s nominee and prefer someone who better represents the vast majority of Republican Party members.
In addition to my concerns expressed above, if there is any chance that the Republican Party candidate would be disqualified from an election because of this new bylaw, I beseech you to take whatever steps necessary to cancel this bylaw by whatever means necessary. We do not need to be helping Democrat Party candidates be victorious in our elections.
Sincerely,

I have written to you before, but this is out of control, and the bylaw passed on the above date should be repealed or thrown out.
In light of the all information I have received and all the I have worked for in past years (over 18), I believe the action of the “Gang of 51” was irresponsible, and their past action needs to be withdrawn or overturned.
Robert Loveridge
To the so-called gang of 51.
I do not support SB54, I believe it is unconstitutional.
However, I am disappointed by the actions taken in the recent central committee meeting.
The will of the minority cannot displace the will of the majority. It is against the core principles of our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to subvert the natural order of parliamentary procedure as you apparently have done. Your actions lead to a conclusion that you are only acting in selfish interests and not for the good of our state. I hope that your actions will be overturned.
Civil discourse and a willingness to accept the will of the majority are essential to the maintenance of liberty.
Sincerely,
Steve Whitehouse
I don’t believe they represent a majority of Republicans
They should be ashamed
Thank You
As far as I’m concerned this sounds more like a dictatorial form of government, rather than a constitutional democracy which our forefathers imagined.
Dennis Christensen
I wholeheartedly agree with Daryl Acumen. I support the caucus system, but the latest bylaw change by the SCC illustrates that those who voted for it are out of touch with the purpose of the caucus system. They are so focused on pushing their own agenda that they no longer represent the Republican Party. It’s disgusting!
Calvin Chipman
Daryl,
Thank you for addressing this appalling travesty that was carried out by a few misdirected politicians who want to control political outcomes by limit participation by the citizenry. This move to change party bylaws, along with the previous acts of Republican politicians to oppose legal signature-based initiatives, is clearly a defensive move to preserve and consolidate power among the more extreme members of the Republican Party. It reeks of fear and disrespect of the general citizenry. This action reflects the Jeffersonian fear of the “unwashed masses” that were addressed at the time of the drafting of the Constitution. Such stances that attempt to limit political participation have never stood the test of time or the scrutiny of the judiciary. They are a complete waste of time.
My blood boils when I think of the time and resources our elected officials have spent sponsoring and passing legislation that–beyond going against the wishes of those who elected them–actually attempts to limit the future participation of their constituents. Lame!
I respect you for speaking out and taking a lead on this issue and stand ready to do all I can do to help you in this cause.
Sincerely,
Jim Ericson
The Republican Party Nationally is doing all it can to ruin the reputation of the party by not even following the lead of our President and working to keep campaign promises he made. Do they not recognize the reason he is there is because those of us who support his changes voted for him!
And now Utah wants to screw up the party even more by enacting this ridiculous by-law! Maybe it’s time for those of us want the Party we were once proud to be a part of take a better look at the alternative. The Democrats don’t need to worry about the Republican candidates, the party is doing everything it can to drive WE THE VOTERS TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE OTHER THAN A REPUBLICAN.
Keep up the good work guys and you’ll be out of a job soon.
Carl Gardner
I am responding to an email that I received from Daryl concerning your meeting on February 24. I am not familiar enough with the issue to take a stand at this point. Daryl contends that your move to halt the signature route to getting on the ballot can and he believes will have very serious consequences, like disqualifying all Republican candidates from getting on the ballot. My first question is; why do we need to do away with the signature method?Secondly, how do. You avoid the dire consequences he outlines? Thank you for considering my questions.
I am a conservative Republican and have been for 45 years.
I want to know the names of every single person on the SCC who voted for this new bylaw! I am appalled at what each of you has done.
I want the signature path available to combat extremist Republicans within the Utah GOP who want to maintain their power through their control of the caucus path, which apparently includes all of you who voted for this bylaw.
We who are not extremists and are the majority of Utah Republicans do not want your extreme brand of Republicanism representing our views.
I want commonsense Republicans in a commonsense Utah Republican Party representing me. I want representatives of mine to work with others to advance our nation and government, and your extreme views and those who support them have polarized Congress and our nation. Shame on all of you, and for doing this illegal bylaw change!
So, undo that bylaw change and let the rest of us have our say or we will seize control of the caucus process and get rid of you and the caucus system.

Gary D. Brown
I just want to express my complete and total disrespect for the current republican party leadership in Utah at the present time. I deplore the Caucasus system of “insiders” choosing who will run as republicans. I was so excited when the additional way to run was voted for and passed by the people of Utah. The fact that the Rep Party has been and is doing everything they can to discount what the people want is sickening to me. You make me ashamed to call myself a republican. I have went to Caucasus meetings and was totally turned off on the process. Your total lack of respect for those of us that want and need to support another avenue to get on the ballot is making me consider not voting republican in the state elections again.
Please pull your heads out of your asses and respect what the people of Utah want. End this asinine new “way around voters and follow the law and stop wasting the parties money fighting the people of Utah in court.Sincerely:
I have reviewed your proposal regarding election qualification process and think the SCC is TOTALLY out of order. You are providing the best possible rational for eliminating the caucus system. You have NO regard for what the people want or what is democratic. You are an embarrassment to our Party and the State!!!!!

the extremists and they don’t care what a majority of the party members

Dear Mr. Acumen,
We are lifetime Republicans who have watched, in disgust, the antics of the Utah GOP party. We are 100% behind you and your efforts to block what has been going on. You may use our names in whatever way is useful.
Thank you for acting on this most unfortunate situation.
Tom and Judy Larson
Daryl,
I agree with you this was a foolish action by extremist in the party.
Bryan Crowell
The actions of the so-called “Gang of 51” threaten the relevancy – and even the existence of the Republican Party whose ideals many reasonable people have subscribed to for decades. This action smacks of playground bullying and has no place in supposedly civil government.
This power grab is offensive to me, and threatens to finally push me right out of the party.
Please obey the law and allow people the right to choose their own leadership!
I oppose the action taken by the “gang of 51” and hope they are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. We don’t need extremists railroading the election process.
Mr. Dana Williams
What kind of stunt are you pulling? You make the Utah Republican Party look like a bunch of rubes. Get your act together and shape up.
Regards,
I don’t know who you are but you have put the future of our great state in the toilet!! You were trusted with representing the people of your areas and have made a move completely devoid of trust. Getting every single republican candidate kicked off the ballot and basically turning out state over to the Democrats is maddening. You have basically hijacjked our state!!! Fix it or you deserve to go to jail longer than 6 months!!! ????
Jenny Fairey
Mad Constituent
Dear Esteemed Republicans,
How could you be so BRAZEN to suppose that you know best for the republican party in Utah. Did you decide that that the State Party should be a dictatorship?
I’m a long time republican, but I strongly disagree with any efforts to stop the ability of candidates to get on the ballot.
I feel like some leaders of the republican party are wrong and seem to be trying to limit our freedom of choice. I didn’t even agree with the last effort to stifle the elections. Unless your purpose is to destroy the republican party in Utah, let candidates at least keep the avenues open now to get on the ballot. Stop trying to control the elections.
If you don’t let this happen I will not be able to continue to call myself a republican. Quit trying to force your will on the people of Utah, I think there are less people that think the way you do than you think.
If you believe in freedom, let Utah elections be free. If you want to change the rules, have the guts to put your proposal on the ballot, instead of a back room deal.
David Pearson

If the central committee persists in the attempt to block “signature path” candidates from having place on an election ballot here is one voter that will be seeking a new party. Either the Democratic Party, and I shudder at the thought or a newly formed party that wont try to dictate my choices of candidates. I’ve been a Republican all of my life, 78 years, but I’m not married to the party. I expect there are a lot of others just like me. Wouldn’t it be ironic if you helped change Utah’s political color.
My name is David Jackson, a registered Republican living in Hurricane. You’ve got my E=mail address if you care to communicate with me.
Bill Spence
This group of republicans are so stupid. They are trying to stop Mitt Romney from running for the Senate. Governor Romney is our only hope for our future. We need to sustain the Law of the Land. Thanks for your help in this matter.
Evlynn Scott
You guys are destroying the Utah Republican party. Knock it off.
Your actions are completely unacceptable. It fact your actions remind me more of the Chinese Communist Central Committee. In case you have not been educated in how the Communist Party works, the Chinese Central Committee selects those party members for office from party lists and that is who the Party members must vote for. Since when did the Utah Republican Party become Communists? I can tell you that the leaders of the Republican Party who led the Party statehood-Reed Smoot and CE Loose would be appalled at your actions. I am disgusted with the Party and feel like leaving as I do not want to be apart of an organization that imitates Communists.
Sincerely,
Deward Loose

Citizens of the state do not need a small group of people making the decision to determine what candidates should be on the ballot. The idea is arrogant and presumptuous.
You people in this “gang of 51” should be ashamed of yourselves for your actions. I disapprove of all 11 of my fellow Davis County SCC reps. I think you are being dishonest and causing unnecessary dissention within our party.
I believe each one of you hassome sort of grudge against Rob Anderson and Joni Crane and you are trying to get them removed from office. You might even have bad feelings towards them.
I urge each of you to resign your positions from the SCC immediately. You are over zealous in your duties and maybe those energies could be put to better use elsewhere.
Regards,
Jeff Smith
Davis County and State Delegate
The method by which you made this decision makes me extremely angry. Please listen to the majority of our party! Our elected representatives in the Utah legislature are making the decisions that the majority of us support. If you want to form a minority party of your own, feel free, but don’t try to hijack ours.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.
Nora Hess
Only allowing candidates chosen by the party leaders to be on the ballot is not democracy in action but rather government by the few who seek power and influence.
Wendell D. Zollinger, Ph.D
What are you thinking??
Why should a small group of people who think they are smarter then everyone else dictate their beliefs on us. We should have the voice on who our candidates should be.
This is very arrogant, your actions will be remembered and voted against at every turn
Randy N
You guys are a “piece of work”. I’m 66 years old and I’m a life-long, hard-core Republican but I will never give the Utah Republican Party another “dime” as long as you are fighting to maintain the antiquated and embarrassing caucus system that you can’t seem to let go of. I hope you don’t force me to be an Independent. Not everyone can make it to a caucus meeting but that shouldn’t prevent them from being able to vote for the candidate of their choice no matter how they got on the ballot.
DROP IT AND GIVE IT A REST! PLEASE!!!!!!
Joseph & Holly Morton
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.

Please STRIKE the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.
Isn’t it obvious that most republicans want to be more inclusive and moreprogressive? Somehow there persists a STUBBORN FEW that are so intent on maintaining control that the entire party is likely to become IRRELEVANT. There have been so many demonstrations that the central committee and the convention in general do not represent the majority of republicans. You would think that stubborn few would come to their senses and try to work things out, not DIG THEMSELVES FURTHER INTO THEIR TRENCHES (where they’ll likely just be buried).
Matt Reid
Orem, UT
You folks are not republicans you are guys looking for power to promote your own agenda. You 51 don’t own the republican party.
This government is WE the People, not You the People. You have no right to change any bylaws that affect our personal agency on who we vote for. Do not pretend you have our best interest in mind by your actions. We the people should decide how this outcome plays out with a vote, not you!
We need the Republican Party in Utah because of its conservative values. What you are trying to do is wrong, and I request that you fix it immediately.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. I will actively oppose any Republican caucus leadership who does not repeal this change– at every level.
This action is totally unacceptable. This feels like the strong arm party bosses of New York and Chicago. This is not the Republican Party that most Utah Republicans stand for.
Doug Maughan
Please stop what you are doing!
Your “Secret”, backhanded meeting was WRONG! Go back to the cesspool from which you spawned and leave the Republican party alone.
I have not contributed to the Utah Republican Party for the past few years because of the foolish waste of funds the party has committed to fighting Count My Vote and the subsequent legislation that was passed in acknowledgment of the failings of the current caucus system. You represent what I am fighting. I have voted republican all my life. You are accomplishing what scores of acquaintances and family members could not—getting Steve Baxter to vote against the Republican Party. And in case you think I’m just a RINO, let me point out that I have served as precinct vice-chair in the past and have attended every caucus meeting since I moved to the state.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.
Stop the foolishness.

Gentlemen and Ladies
Your recent actions show a disrespect for the fundamental principles of fairness and representative voting. Moreover, in my judgment, you are endangering the election process and disrespecting the rule of law.
I hope you will come to your senses and stop this internecine bickering that demeans our noble party. We need level-headed candidates for office and should encourage getting them to the ballot – not scaring them away from the process with senseless rule-crafting designed to discourage them and making their path more difficult and treacherous.
There need to be more adults in the room.

I call upon you to fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. I also call for the reinstatement of the GOP attorney.
Michael Geary
I spoke to a member if the Central Committee this week who is running to replace Chris Stewart. I expressed my concerns about how this committee has taken over the party and I told her, “When the results of the party are no longer representative of the people, we no longer have a government of the people.”
Rob Anderson was elected by a majority of the state delegates at Convention. Who elected the members of the Central Committee? This is governance without representation and it’s high time that this be put down once and for all.
Sincerely,
David Monson
Also, your bylaw of only .0045% of scc members represent an untenable number. You act is if you are looking for a pure race of republicans. I trust you remember how that worked out when someone else tried to find a pure race.
James Jardine
Stop acting like the ‘Gang of 8’ and listen to your party members or you may find yourself out in the cold.

If you are one of the 51, you should resign your position. The most unfortunate but just repercussion from your action would be for all our Republican candidates to be disqualified. You fools!!
Gary Hadfield
I think the gang of 51 should be expelled from the party. This is not a true representation of the party. I am sure that they were within the rules of doing something like this but there are unwritten rules about changing bylaws that should have been followed. This group of 51 should be thrown out of their current positions and they should not be let back into any leadership with this party.
Curtis Rowley
how about preserving democracy instead???
Kurt Jensen
The Utah Republican Party no longer represents my views. I will be resigning from the Republican party and will vote as an independent. I hope the party can find its way back to a more moderate viewpoint soon.
Mike Murphy
I want to add that I was so astounded when I heard about this attempt to usurp the Voice of the people in the Republican Party that I truly was about to ask to remove my name from the Republican Party rolls! Thanks to whoever sent out this email giving us regular members the chance to make our voices heard!
The Party has changed so very much in my lifetime, and especially here in Utah, the high handed methods used by a small minority to rip apart the old values we have stood for and keep older people from being able to fully participate that I have wondered if I was a Republican any longer! This chance to voice my opinion gives me hope that there are still like minded people out there who can save us from self destruction.
Janet Enke, South Jordan
Why would you think something voted on in secrecy could be good? Secret combinations are never good!
Be open, be transparent, be honest!

You guys are on the wrong side of this. Party members are sick of a tiny fraction of the party dominating the power of the Party. Give it up and move to a healthier future.
Randy Winn
This sort of decision shouldn’t be made by the few. I should have at least been voted on at area caucus meetings or at State convention.
Thanks for acting responsibly by leaving the bylaws as they were.
Sincerely,
Janell Lieber
why do 51 of you think you can run the party you are acting like democrats what are you trying to hide john percival

This is intended for those who gathered and held a publicized meeting in which it was voted go back on the status of the Republican party in Utah. My apologies if you were not a party to that action. Read on.

I WILL NOT CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE GOP FINANCIALLY AS LONG AS THIS STUPIDITY IS IN EFFECT. YOU JUST GUARANTEED THAT “COUNT MY VOTE” WILL WIN!
David Olson
Personally I am appalled by these actions. I feel the Republican Party has moved from its core and become self serving and extremist. Actions like this alienate many people. I’m on the verge of leaving the party and looking for something-someone who can represent good sense and reason.
PLEASE become more reasonable.
Diana Fillmore
At my county convention about half of the delegates want out of the caucus system. Maybe we should stage a coup and kick you out of the Republican Party.

Will you please tell everyone including my self the names of the 51 traitors that are attempting to over throw our state Republican party? We all need to know who they are so we know how is miss representing us.
You have made it embarrassing to call oneself a member of the GOP!! Have you forgotten the you are supposed to work FOR THE CITIZENRY not against them? Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to spend millions of tax dollars defending this in court.
Sincerely
I want to be able to vote in a primary for the candidate of my choice. Having a caucus of a few state delegates pick a candidate does not represent democracy, its more like what the communists like to do. If you want me to vote Republican then you had better select candidates the American way and let me VOTE!!!!!
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to have a state run by Democrats or Republicans who feel that they know better than their constituency and have no need to listen to or represent them!
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to have a state run by Democrats!
As a State Republican Party delegate, I am extremely concerned with the path you are pursuing r.e. the caucus ballot & party nominee process. I want every opportunity for people to be involved in the political process – especially if they are a member of our GOP! Please retract the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We are and aspire to be a party of inclusion of like minded individuals seeking good, conservative, common sense policies that protect our freedoms while promoting the common good of all our citizens. Again, your proposal is NOT in harmony with the vast majority of our party members – Fix it!!!Sincerely,
Draper, Utah
I am not happy with how some in the Republican party have been trying to take away my vote. I used to attend the Republican caucuses to let my voice be heard. But I learned you cannot trust the delegates the caucuses elects to follow the will of the group that sent them. Also, for several years now I have not been able to attend the caucuses because of other commitments I have. The caucuses are an impractical way to elect who gets on the primary ballot. I would prefer being able to vote for myself on who gets on the ballot and be allowed to do that when my schedule permits.
The caucus is a small elite group that gets to control this important function of democracy of deciding who gets on the ballot. We might as well just turn everything over to the liberals. The progressive liberals like to have a few of the “elite” telling everyone what to do and what to think.
Who is this gangof51? Have they been infiltrated by Russian operatives? Have they been infiltrated by the Democrats or by the liberals? Do they have a hidden agenda? Are they a special interest group?
I trust a majority more than I trust a minority of 51.
Although I attend the caucus system and have served as a state delegate, to restrict candidates from getting signatures to be on the ballot diminishes our democratic processes.
M. Turner
Utah County
I am ready to disassociate myself from the Republican Party. Your actions do not represent my views at all. The caucus system is flawed. I noticed that the two times that I served as a state delegate to the Republican Party. Yet, I support candidates who come from the caucus system ut also more fully those using the signature gathering method, which actually gets more of the common man into the process. It is more democratic and “of the people”. I am ashamed to be called a Republican right now. I support the rule of law and not the vocal and rich few who currently are driving the party. Let us get back to actually solving the problems of our society rather than this power grab.
Your actions at the “emergency” SCC meeting last weekend are reminiscent of a communist regime! Whatever happened to government of the people, by the people and for the people in our Republican Party??
Your actions were wrong!!!
Seth Jensen
Precinct Chair
Roy004
This group is totally out of line and obviously DOES NOT represent me a s a Republican.
Just more proof of why we need to get rid of our “caucus system” and go to a primary election system!!!!!
Grant Palfreyman
Your actions tell me that YOU want all the power to determine who will be elected in this state, and that I should have no say. I go to my caucus meetings; I vote for people to represent my district at convention; I’ve run to be a delegate. What does it tell you when the candidates coming out of convention are not those elected in the final election? It apparently tells you that you need to consolidate your power. It’s because of your actions that the Utah GOP is falling apart. How dare you endanger my vote!!! This is not the Republican party I want representing me and certainly not the one that I believe in.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot. We can’t afford to have a state run by Democrats! Or uninvolved uninformed public masses who take their cues from the latest social trend.
You have not followed the rules and should be removed from your positions, including Secretary Lisa Shepherd.
Ask yourself what are you really trying to accomplish?
The Republican Party has become a cancer. Keep up the good work to hold them accountable for their extreme hypocrisy. Don’t let anyone intimidate you, as that is not how our system is supposed to work. Thank you on behalf of the many citizens who want our country back!
Jenny Perkins
The type of actions your small, but vocal oligarchy committed are a great example of what is wrong with party politics. You in no way represent the majority of republicans in Utah who support “Count my Vote.”
I am appalled that you waste State GOP money fighting legal battles the majority of us do not support. Shame on you and your corporate sponsors.
Not happy with having your meeting and changing the rules last week, without having the full committee present. Schedule them at a time when all can attend to represent their constituents.
Come on, act like responsible leaders, do things right and be honest!
Gang of 51
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.
You are begging for a straight loss of the two party system you claim to love by having the count my vote people pass a full on amendment like they were going to do before because you continue to fight against something that isn’t worth it. If that makes it onto the ballot, you will lose. I guarantee it. Gail Miller would dance on your graves. You will lose the fight and lose the war.
Get in touch with the majority of your million member voters, and not the 75 people out of that million that think like you.
I, for one, think about the only sane person there is the chairperson, who you try to get rid of every time you meet. You can keep shouting at the rain or actually work on getting qualified candidates that can actually do a good job in office in the races and on the ballots so we can affect some decent change in a do nothing stalemate climate that exists now. Signatures or Caucus, I could care less, but if you keep pushing, you will see the death of the caucus system come, and fast, as Utah isn’t what is used to be, and the more people that move here, the less the good old caucus system seems to appeal. Add the fact that you are making it impossible to gather signatures and have an alternate pathway, and your caucus death is assured and the eulogy will be short.
Here is hoping that you will do the right thing.
Lance Greer, PLS
I have been a life long Republican but I am having my doubts about the Utah Republican Party and their continued efforts to restrict who I can vote for in the primaries.
You have exhibited tyranny of the worst kind. You have created a secret combination with a lust for power that will be to your peril and ultimate destruction of the Republican Party in Utah, and your own personal reputations. Power in this country ultimately belongs to the people, and your actions will arouse the people to exercise that power, to you hurt and demise if necessary.
I was taught to think before you act. You should do the same.
Kevin P. Hansen
Bountiful, UT
I am reaching out to you in efforts to let you know how disappointed and embarrassed I am by your actions.
Your constant bickering and blatant disregard for the elected leadership and the structure of the State Central Committees organization is over-the-top and speaks to the immature and childish behavior of your small faction.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.

being called a “secret combination,” but calling meetings they know will be poorly attended so they can push through their private agenda and force their will the party, endangering its very existence. This bylaw must be
overturned. It is not the will of the party, and these people, in their attempt to save the caucus/convention system, have now endangered it further. It’s time to drain the swamp, and I’m not talking about Washington DC. It’s the SCC swamp that has to go.Dave Heywood
State Delegate–Precinct SF03
I’m disturbed that you would change party laws without the support of the state’s Republicans – a dirty trick. I thought about changing my party affiliation, but feel I can help the Republican party more by remaining a member.
Note: I hope and pray that Gang 51 is not the same outlaw politicians who in the past, continue to call for an Article V Convention so they have the power to rewrite our Constitution of the United States. Its hard for me to believe that some of our mislead politician servant’s have the audacity to change the most perfectly written document, that was inspired by our God. And by just opening up our most sacred Law of the Land Constitution document for change, our freedom and liberties can and will be compromised by the adversary.
Robert Loveridge (OR 49)
Your conduct at these meetings exemplifies exactly why George Washington warned against political parties in his farewell address. You are too much focused on preserving the power you have at the expense of allowing the rank and file membership determine who will represent the party in a general election.
I disagree with your behind the scenes passing of a bill within the Republican party without local delegates at the state level having an opportunity to review and approve or disapprove.
Let’s do it right! Put it out for a real vote. We are either unit=
ed or we are not. If you are not, don=E2=80=99t claim to be a Republican, a well-respected party in the United States of America.

To me, this is just another ploy by the Utah Republican Party to disenfranchise voters. I’m not originally from Utah, and several of its laws do astound me, but, for me, the most egregious are it’s election laws.
Since college, I’ve made it a point to thorough investigate all candidates for all offices which are running for election, including primary elections. Several years ago, wishing to become more involved in the Utah election process, I attended a local caucus meeting. Since I’d always been able to vote in primaries and never been exposed to the caucus process, I was looking forward to an educational experience.
I attended the local caucus meeting and was astounded at the process. Each candidate presented how long each had lived in Utah and our local area, discussed their spouse and each of their children detailing their activities, discussed their job history and church activities. Not a single one discussed the issues. I’d researched each of the candidates running for office and knew their positions on the issues which concerned me and I wanted to vote for the caucus candidate which would represent my views.
When the floor was opened for questions, I asked each candidate for their positions on the issues. None would provide an answer. When I asked which candidate for office they would be voting for, everyone said that they would make up their minds when they were at the convention. Since I had no way of knowing if any of the caucus candidates would represent my views, if they even had positions on the issues or if they had done any research on any of the candidates, I left without voting and will not waste time in attending any future caucus meetings.
The attempt to bar any potential candidate who has not gone through a process which is not representative of the populace is yet another reason why this lifelong registered Republican is reevaluating his commitment to the Republican Party.
Elliot Wigder
I am tired of the two party system who do not work for the American People. Every pocket is lined except the people who need it the most. Just answer me why adults who have been elected (or people who claim to be adult) can not sit down and solve a problem? Why do people elected have to vote party lines, and the winner is the one’s in control. It is like a bunch of kids who if things do not go my way I will take my ball and go home.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!
This action is underhanded. The voice of the people should be of utmost interest and must be respected. A group of 51 people does not have the right to change things to fit their agenda and to stop others from being involved in the political process!
Respectfully,
As a concerned Republican, I’m shocked at your recent action and expect you to reverse it

Dear SCC, I am so upset by your actions as described in the e-mail below, by Daryl Acumen. This is such an extreme action that could be devastating for our party. I don’t know who you think you represent, but I can tell you, it ISN’T me, nor is it a majority of Republicans in this State. I’m sure you know that, and I am writing to register my great frustration with this act, and to ask you to please do what you can to un-do the damage.
Thank you,
JoLynn Bell
Please allow candidates who have signatures of the people to be allowed on the ballot.
Thanks,

I am sorry to say you are driving more and more Republicans from the party. If you think that your actions are unnoticed by those you think are uninterested, uninformed, and uneducated you are wrong. We are watching and more and more of my neighbors are thinking of leaving the party. Do yourselves a favor and called a meeting and correct the action you have taken that is no only unlawful put unmoral.
JoAnn Neilson
Soon to be independent voter thanks to you

Hi,
To all,
Respectfully,
Cease and desist with such reprehensible actions
David K. Gehris
I would like to understand why 51 can pressure any government agency into doing anything. Why can a group of any size just change the bylaws?
Why is it that the minority decides for the rest of us what will happen?
Stand up and do what is really right for a change!
Sincerely
To whom it may concern,
You may think you are doing something that is helpful, but you are not. You do not represent the majority of the Republican Party in any way. Most of us are moderates, not radicals. We do not fear a loss of power as you seem to fear. We want laws and representatives that actually represent a majority, rather than the minority.
My husband and I have been delegates, as a result of the caucus process. Participating made me realize that a very select few are holding onto the power and control. There is no way that I could truly represent those I was voting for, because they are different from me and different from each other. I participated in the caucus process because I was so disgusted that Bob Bennett was kicked out, against the majority of the voter’s wishes. But, I really think the caucus now exists to consolidate the power base of the few.
You do not listen to the people. You do not make me want to remain a republican. If you continue on in your reckless and arrogant disregard of the public and their wishes, you will ruin the party in this state. We weren’t afraid to vote against Donald Trump, no matter how “red” we are. This country and state are to be run by the people, for the people. Pretty sure that isn’t the reason you created a bylaw that is unacceptable to most of us.
Please fix the bylaw change you called for this past Saturday. It is endangering the candidacy of Republicans statewide and we hold you personally responsible if we don’t have Republicans on the ballot.
I wonder what will happen to your credibility if we don’t have any Republicans on the ballot. Maybe you should think very seriously about that.
Sincerely a 55 year old, white, conservative female. Just in case you were wondering.
Suzanne Melter
I have been a lifelong Republican, and seriously considering leaving the party because of the actions of the Utah Republican Party in the last few years.
I reside in Davis County and have been very disappointed in those who would like to restrict voting rights (I’m thinking of Casey Fischer and Teena Horlacher from about a month ago) and create purity tests for members of the Republican Party.
You have over stepped your bounds you need to remove yourselves and allow the party to be more responsible to the people whom you SHOULD represent.
Kathy Canning
Thank you for this message. I was appalled by the actions taken by this small group of individuals. As a life-long Republican, their actions defy the core principles upon which the pparty is founded—to uphold and honor the law. Their actions seem to be more about protecting their power than by doing what is best for the party and the State. When the legislature passed SB 54, they represented the voice of the people. To ignore this fact runs counter to the foundation of a representative government—so disappointing. Please feel free to pass along my opposition to their actions.
Thank you
Kristen Cox
